The moment iRacing scores a 4x, Steward freezes the seconds that led up to it for both cars.

Open Steward once and leave it running. It connects as soon as iRacing does, and the status turns to Live when you are on track.
Steward reads your name, the category you are racing in and its Safety Rating. The gauge and colors follow the license: orange for D, yellow for C, blue for A.
Avg fault is your average share of blame across every incident Steward analyzed. It sets your Driver Status tier, from Bronze up to Gold.
When iRacing scores a 4x, the session card switches to Analyzing
and Steward rebuilds the seconds before the contact for both cars.
The verdict appears in the activity feed and on your overlay.
The PDF report is saved, and if you race in a league, the incident
goes to your stewards.

Into Turn 1, Car B dived down the inside from too far back, with no overlap before the braking point. Car A was holding the racing line and was hit on the left side with a 1.6 g lateral peak.
Art. 2.2.2 — Driver Responsibility
Each driver is responsible for avoiding contact with other cars.
CAR A — YOU · 20%Kept a normal line into the corner. Could have left a little more room once Car B appeared.
CAR B — OTHER DRIVER · 80%Started the move too late, with no overlap, and could not stop for the apex.
Car B had no overlap before the braking point and locked into the apex. Car A held a predictable line. Primary responsibility lies with Car B; Car A shares a minor part for not leaving more room.

Every driver in the league runs Steward. When two of them touch, both sides of the incident reach your stewards’ panel live, with telemetry from each car. Stewards review, decide and publish the penalty.
No. Steward only reads the telemetry iRacing makes available to apps through its official SDK, the same data overlays and dashboards use. Nothing is installed in the sim and nothing is sent to it.
No. Steward is an independent analysis. Use it to understand what happened and to support a protest or a league decision. Official penalties stay with iRacing and with your league’s stewards.
When iRacing scores a 4x contact, Steward takes the seconds before it for both cars: positions, speed, braking, steering and the geometry of the contact. The AI analysis weighs that against racing principles from the iRacing Sporting Code and returns a fault share with the reasoning behind it.
Fair Inc counts only the incidents you caused, next to iRacing’s official count.
